We are dedicated to supporting our customers and communities. In 2024 we introduced our Communities and Livelihoods Strategy, which outlines our plans to support customers and communities over the next three years, extending beyond traditional housing management services. As part of this initiative, we aim to provide funding to community groups working within our communities for events or projects that align with our strategy’s objectives and benefit our customers and communities.
In the past, we have received requests from local groups, to help fund events such as day trips, fun days or any other events or projects that bring communities together. We have assisted wherever possible, making use of available funds or via Social Value initiatives with our contractors.
To ensure fair assessment of funding requests, we have developed a new application process for groups seeking support from Riverside Scotland. Each request will be evaluated based on criteria such as the event or project’s support for local people, the number of our customers who will benefit, and the anticipated impact of our funding.
An application form must be completed and returned by any group requesting assistance. Each request will be assessed against our values and the objectives of our Communities and Livelihoods Strategy, and a decision will be made regarding the provision of funding or assistance.
While we aim to support as many groups as possible, our funds are limited, and there may be instances where we cannot fulfil all requests.
We conducted a consultation on our new plans, seeking feedback from our Sounding Board members. The feedback was generally positive and has been considered in the implementation of our new approach.
For more information on completing an application, please refer to the application form. If you have any questions about the funding or wish to discuss further, please contact Gavin Wiffen, Customer & Community Engagement Officer, on 07970 348 724 or [email protected].
